Visit to sericulture

Sericulture
The rearing of silkworm in cmmerical scale to produce silk is called sericulture.  I am sharing my some of knowledge i got on kavre sericulture on friday we went there from school.

Mainly two species are commonly reared in Nepal seri silkworm and eri silkworm. its concept was first introduce in china. The mulberry silk moth is domesticated insect its is not found in wild forest. It lives on mulberry Tree and feed on its leaves.there are four stages of silkworm
egg
larva
pupa
adult

1.Egg
It is first stage of life cycle of silkworm female silkmoth lays 300 pin head size egg at once eggs are incubated at 18 degree to 25 degree for 2 weeks which we got to know there here in picture we can see that in that paper there is about more than a lakh eggs of silkworm.

2.Larva
It is non reproductive stage of silkworm. It is feeding stage in which larva eat and grow. it also consists 5 stage and they need to feed more in this larval stage. As we can see in picture there is larva and leaves are kept there. As guider told us that leaves should cut and need to be feed to silkworm in larval stage.

 Pupa
It is the third stage of life cycle of silkworm. it is inactive stage inside the cocoon. The pupa undergoes to became adult.silk thread is extracted by boiling cocoon. As guider says us that by boiling it helps to keep larva removed gelatinous substance of cocoon which help in unwinding silk from cocoon . as we can see in picture of pupa.`
Adult
it is final stage of life cycle of silkworm adult silkworm survive about 5 or 6 days male silk moth die after mating with female and female die after laying egg here we can see the picture of adult silkworm which is white in color.

In this way we learn all things about silkworm by visiting to kavre on Friday from school. Guider was very polite and he gave us all knowledge about silkworm in such a good way by showing all things.

At last i want to thank to our principal sir Rajan Acharya class teacher Deepak Shrestha and our Science teacher Ramesh sir for co operating us and letting us to visit kavre seri-culture farm.
